Susan Steffes, PT, CD(DONA)
A 1994 Physical Therapy graduate of Texas State University, I began my career in Physical Therapy as an Early Childhood Intervention Physical Therapist, working with children from birth to 3 years of age. Upon having children of my own I began my work as a Birth Doula, certifying with DONA International, later training with Birthing From Within to begin mentoring childbirth preparation classes. Realizing the opportunity to combine my training in physical therapy with my passion for working with pregnant/postpartum women I decided to embark on the journey of becoming certified through the American Physical Therapy Association in both Pelvic and Obstetrical Physical Therapy. Currently I serve as an appointed member of the APTA, Section on Women's Health, Certificatoin Committee for Obstetrical Physical Therapy and assist in instruction for the certification courses. In 2009 I expanded my practice to Pelvic Health for both men and women. My practice is a patient-centered collaborative approach. When determining a plan of care I am committed to meeting my client's needs and concerns in a compassionate, individualized manner. My communication with referring practitioners is on-going throughout the course of treatment.
I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and help you address your concerns.
